Thank you for your support of the Arizona Jewish Historical Society's We Remember Project.
Your support helps ensure that the voices of our Holocaust survivors will continue to be heard from generation to generation.
The We Remember Project is a collaboration between our local nationally and internationally recognized artist Robert Sutz, the Arizona Jewish Historical Society and the Phoenix Holocaust Association. The project will create a new Holocaust Education Center on the campus of the Cutler-Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center that will feature life masks, portraits and Holocaust related artwork of Mr. Sutz.
Instead of a museum telling the full story of the Holocaust, it's chronology, scope and correlations to other human catastrophes, our project will personalize the Holocaust through the eyes of its survivors and other participants. Testimonies and recollections from those who lived through the Holocaust will provide direct windows into the bigger story.
The survivors' biographies also provide inspiration and messages of strength and hope. Our project will educate the public about the senseless and tragic murder of Jews and other victims of Nazi oppression during the Second World War, and provide a unique and powerful experience for learning, encouraging respect and mutual understanding among people of all backgrounds.
